Asscher Diamond Candidate Comparison Tool

Put two to four actual listings in one table and calculate the comparison metrics that are easy to miss

Compare actual candidates side-by-side

Add two to four Asscher listings. The table calculates each stone’s length-to-width ratio, face-up area proxy, price per carat and price per visible-area proxy while keeping the report grades visible.

Best workflow: add only stones that already passed your basic origin and budget filter. Compare millimeter spread and optical red flags first; then compare color, clarity and price. A cheaper stone is not better value if it is visibly smaller or has distracting windowing.

How to use the table

Recommended order:

Compare dimensions → ratio/depth/table → clarity/color → video pattern → price. Do not let price or a single proportion number win before the visual checks are done.

Helpful references: windowing & extinction, windmill pattern, dimensions, clarity and color.

Start by eliminating administrative mismatches: wrong origin, unacceptable report/lab, or a price outside budget. Then use ratio and visible-area metrics to understand shape/spread. Finally, return to the factors the table cannot see: centered windmill organization, moving contrast, windowing, extinction, inclusion placement and how the stone looks in the intended setting.

For a numerical pre-screen, open the Proportion Checker. For a deeper buying sequence, use the Buying Hub.
